A STRATEGIC GOSPEL OUTPOST

Our Story...So Far

What Are We Asking?

The Steadfast Project is our shared commitment to further establish a lasting place where we delight in Christ, are shaped by His Word, and advance His gospel to our neighbors, the nations, and the generations to come.

Will you invest significant resources that will redound into eternity?

We recognize that Jesus’ mission does not depend on a building. At the same time, we believe this rare opportunity offers the chance to capitalize on the real ministry advantages of having a dedicated facility for a healthy church in the heart of our nation’s capital.

LONG-TERM PLAN

Our desire is to repair and renovate our building—not just with tomorrow in mind, but with years of gospel ministry in view. We prayerfully hope that our church will continue to gather in this space—a well-designed, well-maintained facility that supports disciple-making for decades to come.

Built more than 70 years ago, our building requires repairs and upgrades, as many of its systems and pieces of equipment are original.

The work in this phase addresses current limitations (e.g. HVAC, fire and life safety, etc.) and prepares our facility to serve our growing ministry for years to come.

Phase One focuses on optimizing Main Hall seating and making our entire building fully ADA accessible, made possible through the addition of a lobby and other strategic renovations.

Phase II builds on and enhances the previous work. As Main Hall capacity grows, so does our need for classrooms and offices.

This expansion adds a dedicated office suite, additional classrooms, and a more efficient layout—maximizing every part of our building for ministry.

Dedicated housing offers a strategic gospel advantage in DC’s high-cost context. Beyond our current parsonage, we are seeking additional church-owned housing–through on-site construction or a nearby purchase–to train and send future church planters, interns, and staff.

FAQ

Yes, it takes time and energy, and it could be a distraction if the building became the focus. But the building is not the mission—making disciples is. By God’s grace, and with shared leadership and accountability, we will remain steadfast in delighting in Christ together.

Caring for other churches, ministries, and those in need is essential, and we remain committed to that. But if we neglect the place where we gather, are fed, equipped, and sent, our ability to serve others will fade. Investing in our building doesn’t replace generosity—it strengthens it for generations to come.

We are aiming to raise the funds over the course of 36 months from mid 2026-2028. To provide flexibility and creativity in giving this encompasses three calendar years.

The Steadfast Project is a focused, season-specific investment in the long-term future of our church. Gifts to this project are meant to be given above and beyond regular giving, which continues to support our ongoing ministry and gospel work.

You can let us know of your committed giving by filling out this form.

No, this is not a promise or a formal pledge. Rather, we are asking each person to prayerfully consider how they can participate and share their commitment—even anonymously—while recognizing that life circumstances may change.

We want to responsibly steward what the Lord has entrusted to us and not be presumptuous or foolish. Sharing your estimated Steadfast Project giving helps us plan wisely for each phase of the project.

As with any construction project, there will be disruptions. We will do everything possible to minimize their frequency and duration. We won’t fully understand the impact until the construction documents and plans are finalized.

Our current approach is not to take out a loan. While loans can have advantages, they always carry risks, so we want to explore other options first. We may consider a construction loan to use committed but not yet received funds, and any loan would require final congregational approval.

If we don’t reach our financial target, we will need to revise our work plan and make cuts where possible. Our approach is phased, so we can complete earlier phases before beginning later ones, ensuring progress even if resources are limited.

If we raise additional funds, we will be able to replenish our reserve funds and set aside resources for future ministry projects.
