Whitney K. – Deaconess of Hospitality
Whitney grew up in Georgia and moved to DC in 2010 for graduate school. Since then, she has been planting roots in the city and longs to see the gospel transform Washington, DC into a place of justice, mercy, and belonging. She came to faith at a young age, but spent several years in college mostly ignoring spiritual realities and striving to live within her own set of rules and morals, neglecting the joy and freedom of a life submitted to God. Shortly before joining Restoration Church, she began to engage deeply with what it means to be a Christian and by God’s grace has grown through the loving discipleship found at Restoration. Whitney enjoys good company and good coffee, and is interested in serving the church and the city with compassionate, practical care. As deacon, Whitney helps coordinate preparation for worship each Sunday.
